Chamber Announces Executive Search Kick-Off

The Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce has launched the search process for its next Chamber President & Chief Executive Officer.

“Our Board is enthusiastic and dedicated to the important process of selecting a CEO whose qualities and expertise align with the needs and aspirations of our entire community,” said Board Chair Sasha Tripp, Owner of Story House Real Estate. “We understand the vital role this position plays in shaping the direction of our organization and, by extension, the future of our region.”

The Chamber Board has selected a CEO Search Committee composed of leaders from various sectors to implement a smooth, equitable, and transparent process, and to identify the strongest possible candidate.

Co-Chairs Deborah van Eersel of the University of Virginia Foundation and Joyce Robbins of Robbins Staffing Solutions will lead the Search Committee, which convenes for a Kick-Off Meeting on August 26.

The Search Committee is working with executive search consultant Todd Jorgenson, Managing Partner at Jorgenson Pace. Jorgenson specializes in recruiting executives for non-profit, economic development and community development roles, including chambers of commerce across the U.S.

The Chamber will invite its members to share their insights regarding the needs of the Chamber and expertise desired in the next CEO. Input will be collected through an online survey as well as a series of in-person stakeholder meetings.

The Board anticipates active recruitment for the CEO position will take place late September through mid-November 2024, with plans to interview candidates in November and early December.

The search and hiring process is scheduled to conclude in December, with plans to bring the new President & CEO on board in January 2025.

Search Committee members include Chamber Board members Rita Bunch of Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital, Dr. Mariane Asad Doyle of the Center for Non-Profit Excellence, and Jonathan Chasen of Wells Fargo Advisors, along with James Garrett of Luna Labs, Rahul Keshap of Shuru Law, Aqura Nicholson of Aqura Nicholson Consulting, and Juandiego Wade, Mayor of the City of Charlottesville.

Details about the search and timeline will be updated throughout the process at www.CvilleChamber.com/ceo.
