What does your organization do?
The Rivanna River Basin Commission (RRBC) is a regional organization tasked with providing guidance for the stewardship and enhancement of water and natural resources of the Rivanna River and its watershed. The members of the RRBC are local elected officials from the City of Charlottesville and Counties of Albemarle, Fluvanna, and Greene, members of the local soil and water conservation districts, and citizens recommended by the member local governments.
The RRBC promotes activities that foster resources stewardship for the environmental and economic health of the basin through supplying a forum for communication, coordination, and education and by suggesting appropriate solutions to identified problems for governments and citizens.
Tell us about your event!
We are bringing together river enthusiasts, environmental stewards, and community leaders to discuss the future of the Rivanna River. Join us at the Carver Recreation Center for exciting updates on local projects in the urban corridor, a community panel on conservation and connectivity, and networking opportunities.
There will not be a remote or hybrid version and lunch is provided from Take It Away (sandwich, chips, cookies, and drinks). Let's work together to protect and preserve this beautiful river for generations to come!
What can Chamber members and the community do to help this project succeed?
Come to the event to share their vision for the community's environmental and economic resource, the Rivanna River!
