Timothy Hulbert, IOM, Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce President, Graduates from US Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organization Management

The Institute for Organization Management, the nation�s premier professional organizational development program, a program of the US Chamber of Commerce, is pleased to announce that Timothy Hulbert, IOM, President & chief executive, of the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce, has graduated from the program and has received the professional designation � IOM.� Mr. Hulbert received his IOM certificate at the US Chamber�s Institute held at Villanova University in Pennsylvania in graduation ceremonies on August 3rd.� Awarded to graduates of the Institute program, the IOM recognition signifies the individual�s completion of 96 hours of course instruction in nonprofit management.� �Institute graduates are recognized across the country as leaders in their industries and organizations,� said Raymond P. Towle, IOM, CAE, the US Chamber�s vice president of Institute for Organization Management. �These individuals have the knowledge, skills, and dedication necessary to achieve professional and organizational success in the dynamic association and chamber industries.�� Since 1921, chambers and associations have used the US Chamber�s Institute program as a training platform for the professional development of their professional staff.� Institute�s curriculum consists of four, weeklong sessions at five different university locations throughout the country.� Each week, participants receive training in leadership, advocacy, finance, membership, emerging technologies, and many other organization management competencies.� Mr. Hulbert has served as President &CEO of the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce since 2001.� In 2006, Mr. Hulbert was honored to receive the �Virginia Chamber Executive of the Year Award� presented to him by the Virginia Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives.� Prior to his current office, for 12 years Mr. Hulbert served as President & CEO of the Rensselaer County (NY) Regional Chamber of Commerce and its Rensselaer Gateway Development Corporation affiliate, serving the business and civic community of Troy, Rensselaer County and neighboring communities.� Before his career as a Chamber executive, Mr. Hulbert served on the executive staff of New York State Transportation Commissioners James Larocca and Franklin White, in the administration of Governor Mario M. Cuomo.�� In the 1970�s, his public service also included service on the executive staff of New York State Energy Commissioner James Larocca in the administration of Governor Hugh L. Carey and as a Special Assistant to United States Congressman Ned Pattison.� In business Mr. Hulbert was a financial services consultant and manager with Equitable.� He also worked as a communications/marketing consultant with Envision Communications.� Mr. Hulbert grew up in Upstate New York (Greene County) and is a graduate of Christian Brothers Academy (Albany) and Manhattan College (BA � Government).� Mr. Hulbert, his wife Bonnie Farone, a Physicians Liaison with the University of Virginia Health System, and their daughter Moira live in Charlottesville.� He also has three adult sons. Daniel is pursuing a professional career in New York as a lyricist and recording artist; Sean is a Chemical Engineer (BS � Manhattan College) with the New York City Department of Environmental Protection; and, Michael (BA � University at Albany) is a customer service representative with Tiger Fuel, an oil/gas firm in Charlottesville.
