Think & Drink with Earl Swift

VIRGINIA HUMANITIES: Journalist and Virginia Humanities Fellow Earl Swift will read from and discuss his new book about Tangier Island, Chesapeake Requiem: A Year with the Watermen of Vanishing Tangier Island at a special “Think & Drink” at the Bridge Progressive Arts Initiative in Charlottesville on Sunday Aug. 19.

Described as “a brilliant, soulful, and timely portrait of a two-hundred-year-old crabbing community in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay as it faces extinction,” Chesapeake Requiem is the culmination of Swift’s multi-year fellowship at Virginia Humanities.

Swift will be in conversation with With Good Reason‘s Sarah McConnell and Encyclopedia Virginia staff will be leading virtural reality tours of Tangier before the event.
