Jeanne McCusker, President of the Home Instead Senior Care Charlottesville presented a $1,000 check to the Alzheimer’s Association on January 3, 2014.
The donation was generated through the “Holiday Giving” project at the Charlottesville Newsplex. The project encouraged supporters to “like” the Newsplex during a week in December. In return, Home Instead Senior Care donated $1 for each like to the Alzheimer’s Association. 965 “likes” were registered, and Home Instead rounded up their donation to $1,000. In addition, an anonymous donor has matched the $1,000, resulting in $2,000 in funds to support education/awareness, programs and services for those with Alzheimer’s/dementia and their caregivers, and research.
