Charlottesville, Virginia – The Charlottesville Area Association of REALTORS® (CAAR) has endorsed three candidates for Charlottesville City Council. This endorsement comes after candidate interviews and deliberations were conducted by the Candidate Funding Project Team and the CAAR Board of Directors.
First term Charlottesville City Councilor Kathy Galvin was highly regarded for her forward thinking in balanced development and thoughtful street design. As a professional architect and various design credentials behind her name, Gavin offered great insight in the importance of design and how it can influence the community. Additional factors that contributed to Gavin’s re-election endorsement resulted from her government responsiveness and accessibility.
City Council candidate Wes Bellamy impressed the REALTORS® with his direct style and significant involvement in the community. Bellamy’s inclusive vision for the future and personal understanding of how communities can positively impact lives were important discussion points in the REALTOR® endorsement.
Based on his service to the Fifeville neighborhood, Mike Signer is a City Council candidate with an understanding of the economic development and neighborhood preservation balance. Signer’s values are clearly reflected through his campaign which focuses on Beauty, Innovation, Equity, and Culture, a great platform for moving the city forward.
“We commend all those who run for a local political position and appreciate each candidate’s time and willingness to share their opinions and ideas,” said CAAR Candidate Funding Project Team Chair Quinton Beckham. “We support candidates whose outlooks align with those of REALTORS® and private property owners and not party affiliation. We believe contested races make for better campaigns and result in better public policy.”
