� (Charlottesville, Virginia � May 1) The Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce has selected Bill Howard to receive the 2014 Chamber Small Business Person Award. �The Chamber will present Mr. Howard with the award at the Chamber�s 2014 Spring Luncheon at the DoubleTree Hotel Charlottesville, Thursday, May 22nd at 11:30 AM, at which more than 200 business and civic leaders are expected to be present. �Virginia Secretary of Education Anne Holton is the featured speaker at the 2014 Chamber Spring Luncheon.Bill Howard A Culpeper native, Bill Howard earned a Bachelor of Science from Lynchburg College and received his Masters in Physical Education from the University of Tennessee. Mr. Howard has been a Charlottesville resident since 1965.� Mr. Howard taught at Buford Middle School in 1965-1969 until he accepted a position with the Virginia Highway Research Council.� Three years later, Bill joined Real Estate III as a residential sales agent.� He has been a licensed Realtor � for more than 40 years and a licensed broker for over 37 years. �Mr. Howard is a CCIM Member, an Elite Group of Commercial Realtors and a graduate of the REALTOR � Institute. In 1996, Mr. Howard bought Real Estate III Commercial Properties, where he is the Broker/President/Partner. �He is also the President/Owner/Broker of Real Estate III Commercial Properties Inc., and also President and managing partner of Bill Howard Property Management LLC. This year Mr. Howard started a new Residential Real Estate Company, Bill Howard & Associates Real Estate, LLC, working with his wife, Glenda Howard and Carol Carder of CarderHoward, LLC.� Bill and Glenda live in Glenmore and have one daughter, Niki, who works for Capital One in Richmond. �A distinguished citizen, Mr. Howard�s past recognitions, include, most notably the 2002 Chamber Paul Goodloe McIntire Award for Citizenship, as well as the CAAR Good Neighbor Award, Realtor � of the Year, the1998 Chamber Volunteer Award, among others. The annual Chamber Small Business Person Award was established in 1985 to recognize an outstanding Small Business Person in our Greater Charlottesville communities. The Chamber Small Business Person Award recipient is a Small Business Person from a Chamber member enterprise within the Greater Charlottesville area that is an active owner or co-owner of the business which has 50 or fewer employees; is a member in good standing of the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce; has been in business for three years or longer; and, has made a significant contribution to the success of the business and our Greater Charlottesville communities.
