The committee will recognize outstanding active duty service members from the National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC), the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), and the Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center & School (TJAGLCS), along with select cadets and midshipmen from the Army, Naval, and Air Force ROTC programs at the University of Virginia.

“We’re honored to recognize these service members, cadets, and midshipmen chosen by their units for their extraordinary commitment, skill, and dedication,” said DAC Program Manager Andrew Sides.

The following individuals will be recognized: MSG Natalie B. Walker (US Army; NGIC), SrA Jordan A. Beasley (US Air Force; DIA), TSgt Robert C. Biederman (US Air Force; NGA), SGT Marcos R. Gutierrez (US Army; TJAGLCS), Cadet Rebecca Fitch (US Army ROTC), Cadet Sasha Porter (US Air Force ROTC), Cadet Caleb Jay (US Air Force ROTC; Space Force option), Midshipman 1/C Mary Murray (US Naval ROTC), and Midshipman 3/C Kyle Nguyen (US Naval ROTC; Marine Corps option).

“The Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce recognizes the vital link between military service and the strength of our economy and congratulates this year’s deserving recipients of the Military Service Awards,” said DAC Chair Deborah Van Eersel.

Featured speaker Colonel Jonathan E. Velasquez, a 32-year veteran of the US Army and the current National Security Programs Manager at UVA's Office of Research Security, will speak on “Our Role in an Ever-Changing Environment”.

The event is sponsored by the University of Virginia Foundation with food donated by Mission BBQ and photography services donated by C. & J. Richmond Photography. The award ceremony will take place on Thursday, October 24, 11:00AM to 1:00PM at North Fork Meeting Center in Town Center Four. Registration is required ($20 for Chamber members or $30 for nonmembers).
