What's the most important thing you want people to know about your organization?
NBC29 for 50 years has been dedicated to serving this community through these three distinct pathways: 1) local news coverage, 2) community service information sharing, 3) and providing an advertising/marketing resource for local businesses.
Tell us about something new and exciting your organization is doing.
NBC29 continues to expand beyond our broadcast feeds to provide our news, weather and community coverage through the full spectrum of digital and streaming channels - to better reach and engage as many people as possible in our part of Virginia. We are currently adding a new tower translator in Orange County to better serve.
Tell us about one of your recent success stories.
NBC29 provides what may be one of the best examples in the country of supporting community organizations and nonprofit groups with a pathway to share their services, information and goals with an ever growing circle of viewers across all screens - through our 4pm newscasts "Community Conversations" as live elements on broadcast, and archived segments online and streaming on the NBC29 YouTube channel.
What services or products do you offer?
NBC29 is a full service news AND marketing entity. Our Advertising and Marketing services are FULL service. We can create digital streaming campaigns, SEO, targeted email, and television commercials. NBC advertising services can do it all.
What makes your organization stand out?
Someone once described us as a "news operation" that does television rather than a "television station" that does news. It is an important difference because it is that local news coverage that provides the ongoing social value to the community as a whole, and in turn to our advertisers. We have more reporters on the street every day than any other regional news organization. We do local morning news 7 days a week. We do 6pm news 7 days a week. We believe that consistency in local news is key.
What accomplishments are you most proud of?
50 years ago this station was established to serve this community. This ongoing service, that many people here rely on and trust - for the information that they need to know what is happening here, how to protect themselves and the people that they love and for the kind of positive coverage that underlines why this is an amazing place to live, to raise a family and to grow a business.
What else do you want us to know?
NBC29 is a service to our community and we take that responsibility very seriously. We serve our community with news, we support many nonprofits and we work hard for our advertisers. Our goal every day is service.

We would highly recommend joining the Chamber. As a community we can do more together than on our own.
