DAC – Legislative Update with Claudia Flores

Chamber Defense Affairs Committee (DAC) Meeting - July 28, 2022

Guest Speaker: Claudia Flores, Director of Policy and Planning at the Virginia Department of Veterans Services. Claudia shared a briefing on the bills that got passed this year in the General Assembly that affect veterans and military in Virginia.

Claudia Flores, a retired Navy Commander, is the Director of Policy & Planning and Legislative Liaison for the Virginia Department of Veterans Services. She is responsible for legislative, policy, and budget development, and strategic planning. She has been with the Department since 2017, always working in the arena of veteran benefits. She began her Navy career as an enlisted Cryptologist and went on to earn a Commission as an intelligence officer. Her assignments include working in Combatant Commands, the NSA, the Joint Staff and aboard the aircraft carrier Dwight D. Eisenhower.
