How It Works: Leadership Charlottesville (LC) is a 9-month tuition-based program that begins in September and concludes in May with team project presentations and graduation. The fall program, held from September to November, consists of 12 sessions built around a curriculum of community issues. Nine of these sessions meet on consecutive Wednesday afternoons at designated locations around the community. There are also three monthly sessions held in February, March and April. At least 80% of the non-mandatory sessions must be attended to qualify for a certification of completion. See brochure for schedule of sessions.
Class Projects: As part of the Leadership Charlottesville program, class members participate in project teams to address significant needs within the community. In order to provide our teams the best possible project offerings, project ideas are received from local community organizations. Request for Proposals (RFP) are received throughout October and November from Charlottesville area nonprofits. RFPs are sent via ChamberBits and email. You can also contact the Leadership Charlottesville Director for a form.
Who Participates: Leadership Charlottesville participants include senior level executives, nonprofit executives and staff, entrepreneurs/solopreneurs, local government employees, and community leaders. If you are an existing or emerging leader from the corporate, nonprofit, government, or small business sector, then this program is for you!

IMPORTANT: In addition to the application, a (1) one page letter of recommendation must be submitted. If you are applying with a sponsoring employer, the letter of recommendation should come from your supervisor or someone in management.
