Presented at the Annual Membership Business Luncheon, the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce established the Hovey S. Dabney Award for Corporate Citizenship in 2005 to recognize outstanding examples of corporate citizenship in our Greater Charlottesville communities.
This Chamber Award is established and named in honor of Hovey S. Dabney, a distinguished business leader and citizen in our Greater Charlottesville area, the Commonwealth of Virginia, and our nation.
The Chamber Hovey S. Dabney Award for Corporate Citizenship recipient is a Chamber member enterprise within the Greater Charlottesville area that is known for:
• engaging in sound, successful business or professional practice and presence in our Greater Charlottesville communities and being a ready and good business partner with other businesses
• investing directly in the economic, cultural, and humanitarian advancement of our Greater Charlottesville communities and its culture
• pursuing a positive and healthy work environment for its employees and encouraging and supporting its employees and their families to participate in and contribute to our community’s activities, organizations, and institutions
• inspiring other corporate citizens by example
