CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.— In honor of James Monroe’s 259th birthday, Highland will host a birthday lunch with James Monroe on Friday, April 28, from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. Guests will enjoy box lunches, birthday cake, and Monroe reenactor Dennis Bigelow, who will share first person accounts from Monroe’s life and answer audience questions.
“This year’s observance of James Monroe’s birthday is not to be missed,” said Education Programs Manager, Nancy Stetz. “James Monroe reenactor Dennis Bigelow is just remarkable at bringing the fifth president to life, drawing the audience in to the incredible events and friendships Monroe experienced.”
Admission to the birthday lunch with James Monroe is $25 per person. Lunch orders must be placed by 12:00 noon on Wednesday, April 26. Tickets can be purchased HERE.
