Chamber of Commerce Launches 2012 Leadership Charlottesville Class

The Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce today announced that forty (40) citizen participants from a diverse range of Chamber member businesses and civic organizations will make up the Chambers Leadership Charlottesville Class of 2012.

The Chamber established Leadership Charlottesville, a community leadership development program, in 1982 as a Chamber economic development initiative.  Leadership Charlottesville has been sustained as a signature Chamber program since, to help serve Chamber member enterprises in an effort to help improve our communitys economic vitality and quality of life by building a reservoir of engaged dedicated civic leaders.   Since 1982, the Chamber has graduated more than 700 area citizens from Leadership Charlottesville.  A list of the 2012 Leadership Charlottesville class is attached.

This Leadership Charlottesville Class of 2012 our largest ever will mark 30 years of this successful signature Chamber program, said Robert P. Hodous, partner at Payne & Hodous, who serves as 2011 Chairman of the Chamber Board of Directors.  Our Chambers and our member enterprises sustained commitment to Leadership Charlottesville is testament to this excellent community building initiative.  We congratulate and welcome the incoming class.

The United Way Thomas Jefferson Area remains a lead partner with the Chamber in an enhanced program partnership and in a lead underwriting support role for Leadership Charlottesville.  In addition, this year, Klockner Pentaplast is also a Leadership Charlottesville lead underwriter.  Thirteen other enterprises also are providing various levels of financial support to the program.

Leadership Charlottesville is conducted by Jann Ross, the Chambers Director of Member Education Services and Director of Leadership Charlottesville.
